From Mark Streit at Belleview High School

Hello,

I am reaching out to you guys for a variety of reasons as I am the Head Baseball Coach at Belleview High School and would love to involve your organization as we have host special events, games and so on.

Some of them would be our fundraisers, but the important ones are just the overall involvement of such an organization in the youth of today and baseball of tomorrow.

Right now my team is Pre-Selling Fraser Fir Christmas Trees and wreaths from North Carolina and they will be delivered just before Thanksgiving. I would love to have you offer this to your members to help us out and get them some really nice Christmas decorations at the same time.

Feb 12th - we are hosting our first home game and it will be Military Appreciation Night and I am planning on going all out for this event with gun salutes, uniforms that resemble American flags, etc.

Feb 13th - we are having a HUGE fundraiser event where we are doing Cow Chip Bingo at a Car Show here in the area!! (If you purchase a $10 square and the cow drops his pie in your square you win $1,000!)

We had a youth camp this fall and will be having another one in the spring....This fall we had 35 kids at our camp and this spring will be MUCH LARGER!!!!!! Because it was A GREAT CAMP!

And the other reason I am reaching out to you is simply to form a relationship with you for the future sponsorships needed as I have a 6 year old son and he is involved in Little League and will be playing for many types of teams as he grows. As I am a High School baseball coach, my biggest concern is that I am sacrificing my own children, time with them and providing quality coaching as they grow. So, having an organization like yours on my side, that appreciates and understands baseball and sports, as he goes through his endeavors will be a great asset....!!!

Please call me so we can talk and maybe even come out to your next meeting and speak wit you about some of the things we are planning.

From Austin Gore, Senior Class President of Wildwood Middle High School

Dear New York Yankees Club,

We, the 88th W.M.H.S. graduating senior class, would like to capture a memorable experience - a class trip to our nation's capital, Washington D.C. and New York City. We have big aspirations and goals for this year, but we face one dilemma which we are currently trying to overcome. We are in need of your support to help our class. Our trip will take place in early March, 2016. Our class has other activities planned for the year; however, we are initially struggling to achieve our necessary financial goals for this senior trip.

Any consideration for financial support would be greatly appreciated. All monetary donations are tax deductible. If you are able to donate, please make your check out to Wildwood Middle High School. Whether you are able to give or not, we truly appreciate your time and consideration. Please make all initial contact with Evelyn Weber, WMHS Assistant Principal.

The following club by-law amendment was proposed at the June 22nd meeting.  It will be discussed and voted upon at the July 27th meeting.

Change Section 3.

3.  Membership is limited to residents of The Villages. Payment of dues qualifies residents for membership. Annual membership dues will be assessed and collected at the January meeting. As an incentive for seasonal residents of the Villages, the dues for new members joining the Club between September and January will cover not only the remaining months of the current year but also the subsequent year. Otherwise dues for new members who join at other times during the year (February through August) will be assessed at the same level as the annual dues. Nonpayment of dues prohibits participation in any Club functions.

The following letter was sent to us from The Villages Operation Shoebox

It was decided at the October meeting to cancel the December monthly meeting, due to the proximity of Christmas Day.  November 24th will be the last meeting of 2014.

A bus load of club members attended the Yankees vs Rays game at Tropicana Field on  Wednesday, September 17th.  And, once again the Yankees won!  Amazingly every game we go to the Yankees win, even when we catch a game at Gator's Dockside.  Derek Jeter even broke his hitless streak that night. So, next year we just have to go to every game!

Don't forget to meet us at Gator's Dockside in Spanish Springs on Wednesday the 24th at 1 p.m. for a (hopeful) win against Baltimore.

The club did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Saturday, September 6th at 12 noon in the parking lot of the Laurel Manor Recreation Center, corner of Rt 466 and Buena Vista Blvd.  A total of 27 members and family participated in one way or another.  We had 22 members "get wet."  It was an invigorating experience to say the least, but well worth it for the cause.
